Thank you JP but when the value of the bike is taken into account, the cost of a complete bike, the cost of paying for it to be stripped and exchanged and subsequent disposal of the remaining carcase then it would be uneconomical for me. Back in the days of simple bikes I happily stripped, repaired and rebuilt but the new computer controlled models leave me way out of my depth. It is looking more and more that I will have to sell the bike for spares/repairs and replace it.
