expensive everthing if you like t do mileage crap electrics you will have to wait for parts engine wise fantastic feeling its got caracter that a jap 4 will never have did duke expirience at cadwell park if you have never riden a twin before its a totally different thing i kept droppin to many gears and lockin it up into corners but once your use to it the grunt out of corners is ace the only thing you will miss power wise is top end just make sure you have plenty of money t keep it in good nick any duke will fall apart if neglected if you can afford it i d say do it you will either get addicted or hate it personally i think any twin is more fun than a 4

Mate of mine has just got rid of his 1098, he'd done about a 100 miles since new, it dead on him twice -some sort of electrical gremlin that ducati could not locate, they told him it was fixed the first time and it died on the way home from the dealer, he told them to come and pick it up and demanded a refund, which he got. Now don,t get me wrong i'am a fan of big twins, but i would not touch a 1098, in my opinion it's far too new and Ducati are using it's customers as research development, you'd be much better of with a well sorted 998/999 that somebody else has had to fix the teething problems of.

My brother has a Ducati and when we went to Cornwall earlier this year he was in agony when we turned up. I, however, jumped off my Triumph Sprint ST withough an ache or pain. If you want one, then just go for it mate.

well Ducati Monster my first "big" bike and I love it lol!!!! May be expensive and a pain in the bum as far as parts are concerned as a bit specialist but worth it!!! Great comfy ride, plenty of power at the slightest squeeze of the throttle and all bike!!! Love the noise and feel of a V-Twin, low centre point of balance so good in all weather conditions although I hate getting her wet!! (and believe me Ive been caught in some right storms on the way back from rallies this year!!) Great engine breaking, feels about as safe as you can feel on a bike and thats a novice speaking - although my other half, a very experienced biker, says the same. Each to their own but for me, the Duc is definatelfy worth it, dont look half bad too lmao!!! Good luck with your new bike shopping tho ogb - enjoy!!! Sandy x

KTM!! i take every back gixer boy, get yourself a Duke over a KTM anyday. I had a KTM 950 adventurer from new for 12 months, biggest mistake of my life:- New Cylinder head gaskets in first week Plastic fuel tank burst in the sun , spraying petrol everywhere It would stall while banked over(really not good) And finally the starter motor packed up on the ferry. And the engine from the adventurer forms the basis of all their big v twin range.!!
