Kaz,
I seem to recall an "overnighter" in Scotland being outlined somewhere on here...
Perhaps some of the routes on Motorcycle Scotland could be integrated.
So... Cinderella... You can go to the Scottish Ball!!! You'll just have to wait a little longer!
wooooooooo hooooooooooo !! would love to.
I'm planning a drive up to near Moffat at beginning of August, go every year with my mates and over to Kelso for a Burnese Mountain Dog show, we stay at a lovely campsite in Ettrick forest, but I really want to do some more biking up there, either pilly or if in a supporting group, on my bike
I drive threw Moffat each week on the way to Edinburgh, it is really nice little town/village, and then the follow the A701 is a lovely road, have promised myself will ride bike along it,
Moffat was packed with bikers on Monday morning as I drove by.... want to be out on my bike now
thanks for the link Karey,, :-)
No probs puds..yeh the roads are brilliant up there. I went up on my own last year, met my mates there..and for about 1.5 hours i didn't see another car.. hadta stop for 10 mins tho while the coos took themselves off for milking ! lol
I tend to spend some time in Scotland every year on the bike. I love it up there, best country in the world for bikes in my opinion (other than Austria and Switzerland).
I've never found a boring route no matter where I've gone.
But then again, being born there, maybe I'm just biased?
oooooops... I forgot TC...
Yehhh dont go to Scotland..the roads are rubbish, it rains all the time.. theres potholes and sheep and coos all over, theres no phone signals for miles and miles... the midges absolutely love the blood of bikers and other unsuspecting visitors... nah dont go.. you will hate it.
That should do it TC ;o)
What a great site Kaz, thanks for posting it.
I've never really been to Scotland so looking forward to heading up there this summer/autumn, along with a trip to Ireland hopefully. Geoff's going to show me Scotland and I'm going to show him Ireland.
heyy nice one Rachel !! I was lucky enough to do Ireland as well last year.. that was beautiful too .. went right down to Co, Cork in southern ireland..on an old GPZ900r which kept firing on one cylinder..lol was a lovely holiday tho.
yeh that site is good eh? found some good stuff on there.
"and we have wild elephants roaming too"
Don't forget to mention TC that the wild elephants are fully trained in gorilla warfare techniques.
(They stand on their back legs and beat their chests violently.)
I've never actually seen it myself TC, but I was reliably informed by a passing giant pixie called Nigel.
He was the one who told me about the rhinos in the northern highlands who trot around the villages up there saying "Good Morning" to everyone they meet in a very posh voice, whilst wearing green jumpsuits and big cardigans because of the cold.
*just ordering a bag of whatever geoff is smoking..*
vent - when are you up? I am riding up to Ullapool (via Glenshee, Braemar and the Lecht) then down to Tobermory (on the Isle of Mull) on 22-24 June.
Will we run into you?
(and that is a real possibility on some of those singletrack roads...)
