I was browsing the Argos catalogue, on line, and searched for pillows, cos I need new ones, and found these 'Sound Asleep' MP3 compatible pillows. Catalogue number 032/6203 £14.99. You won't need earplugs apparently. Built in speaker with 3.5mm jack compatible with MP3 or radio. 100% polyester filling, 50% cotton, 50% polyester cover. Spot clean only. For ages 5 years and over. Size 74 x 48cm. Has anyone tried them? If so, what's your opinion, do they work, are they comfy? Are they also compatible with MP4 players?

Wouldn't you have trouble seeing the movie if you had your mp4 player stuffed down a pillow?

It should be compatible with anything that has a 3.5mm headphones socket.... which is just about everything these days, AFAIK.

I know i'm gonna regret this, but hey ho. (takes big breath) The MP in mp3/4 referes to MPEG which is a standard of data compression for media files. Mpeg4 usually relates to movie files where sound and video are compressed. Mpeg3 is a standard for compressing audio data. which is why a song recorded as a .wav file is far bigger than the same song recorded as an .MP3. dependant on the sample rate used of course.

Oggy my Archos MP4 (birthday pressie from my son) plays music mostly cos I loaded a chit load of it onto it from my computer, it does have one video (that I know of) already on it but as I aint interested in 'watching' owt on it I aint added any others to it. Blues thanks for correcting me. I'm no good with technical stuff in writing. I learn by trial and error and 'oo if I try this what happens?' Have you two tried the pillows I asked about?

The pillows are great kwak take no notice of these lot, I knew it would be hard to watch my vids with one so I got around that by cutting a screen size hole in the cover and sewing some plastic on it now have sound and a screen. (I used an A4 plastic sleeve to make the screen it is easy to get the sewing machine to stitch it) Men do they know anything, they just don't treat us with the credit we deserve. You forgot bluesbiker I was there when you used google to look it all up. ps if anyone else wants a screen put in their speaker pillow I still have 99 plastic sleeves left as they were on a bogof offer 100 for the price of 50
