Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the canal's opening, as well as the opening of a further two miles of canal following restoration efforts by the Pocklington Canal Amenity Society.
Boat trips, kayaking, archaeology, theatrical walks and more.
Melbourne Arm will be hosting a boat rally (Pocklington Canal Society) to mark the opening of a further two miles of the Pocklington Canal to boats (taking the navigable total up to 6.5 miles from 4.5 miles, of a total 9.5 mile length)
Everyone is welcome to the Festival running alongside this, with boat trips, wildlife activities with Natural England and Eco Sapien, character led walks with Rusticus theatre company, stalls, food and more.
There will be kayaking taster sessions at Canal Head, as well as activities for the family. Our archaeological excavation will be continuing on the Denison's Warehouse in the picnic area, so all welcome.
These two locations are 4 miles apart, level walk along the grass towpath. (Canal Head off 1079 and Melbourne Arm)
