Whitby Goth Week
It's that time again. Some of you will have heard of it. Some not. Tis a real extravaganze, like living on a film set tbh. WGW happens twice a year and the Halloween one is the much darker and by far bigger, busier of the two meets. Basically all sorts of eclectic and interesting characters meet up and take over gorgeous, quirky seaside town of Whitby. And the surrounding environs - Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes, etc. There's stalls, markets, shows, music events, classic motorbikes and cars and 'promenading' lol.
It is a gathering of goths, steampunks, cyber goths et al. Anything goes pretty much costume wise. Got a 'few' pix up of previous WGW for the uninitiated.
Basically WGW is sensational colourful individual inspiringly creative and above all madly bonkers and just so friendly. A lot of daytrippers turn up just to see the outfits. The range of make up and costumes is top range professional and great to see, even if you only go once.
To thos of you who haven't been....it does get very busy. Streets are rammed with papparazzi n their cameras too, trying to trump their colleagues with their photos. So Sat n Sun are busiest days with peeking crescendo on the Sunday which has become known apparently as Sexy Sunday.
The only rule re outfits at Whitby Goth Week is that there are no rules. Get yourselves there :)
Events at various locations all over Whitby Town for the whole weekend.
