not so much of a feature, but a background process. I've enabled compression on the server, so pages should now be between 4x and 20x faster to load (unbelievable I know). It will work with most modern browsers, but I'd be interested to know who it doesn't work for. Thanks

I'm having problems with my puter so I couldn't really answer that one Matt. Sometimes it makes a right old racket and lags, it's like something is going on in the background that I haven't initiated. It's gone quiet again now and the pages are loading as fast as they usually do, when the puter isn't playing silly buggers. It may be time for a replacement modem or maybe just a defrag.

Hi Matt There is a noticable difference to the speed of my pages loading on my pc off here, I havent checked all the pages as yet but certainally from the forums its faster nice one matey. Just as a point of interest, I use a blackberry and often come onto bikermatch from it. However, I cannot sign in or leave messages from it. Is there anyway you can make the site mobile compatible. <---------Moonstone leaves with a very very quick ( faster than ever before) exit to next thread without her handbag!

laptop is fine no issues there Matt ... however my phone which is windows mobile 6.5 .. its taking its time to sort out & if anything is dragging

ok, to answer... Compression.... simply means that the site makes the web pages and images smaller before sending them to your PC. Kinda like zipping them, then your PC unzips them. Might be a tad slower on mega-old PCs, but every other PC will be fine. Regarding phones - I'm working on it, gonna make it so you can switch between the Rich Text Editor and a basic text box.

PS: Smileys will be as slow as it takes your PC to open a new internet explorer window, it's nothing to do with the server but rather your PC
