Time to refresh this post and make it shiney and sort of new lol
Hi to you all those of you who know me and those who do not.
My Bike Club are holding a sponsored head shave in the aid of little Harley Norfolk who has the very rare brain disease "Leukodystrophy" it is so rare he at 7 months old has the only case in the whole of the british isles. Because he is not expected to live beyond age 3 the NHS has refused to offer any help as his condition is inopperable as far as they are concerned. His condition makes him have "fits" unlike "normal fits" as I'm currently out of work I do not see enough people out in the "real world" so looking to all you people out there to sponsor me to have my head shaved. This is to take place at The Sportsman Public House and carried out by Josie Hunter who is giving her skills free of charge to shave as many heads as wish to raise sponcership. The Event will start at 7:00pm on Tuesday 25th of August 2009.
All money raised will go towards making life a little better for Harley and his perants. I will collect Sponsorship Money at Rosies BBQ weekend and also at the Friendlies Rallie if there are no objections to this. You can of course PM me for contact details and send postal orders or cheques to me at an address to be disclosed privately. I can also be reached via the e-mail addy on the event page!!!
So in anticipated thanks please contact me as soon as possable I'd like to raise a lot of money for this little lad as a dad myself I do not know how I'd cope knowing my child will not live to be a grown up and have a full life.
Andy AKA Hull750Rider
I've already raised a bit from the more astute of you out there now it's time for those of you who think you cannot afford much (EVERY PENNY IS GREATFULLY ACCEPTED IN THE NAME OF THIS LITTLE LAD) and all our combined thanks it's not our child we'd have to say good bye too so crulely!
We raised over £2000 between us I expect that will increase to closer to £2500
Out of 11 people sponsored only 9 made it tonight , so we have 2 others to put their money into the fray, plus I've been promised some funds from others on here who've not been open about the ammounts they are going to send/give me at the Friendlies Rally!
So my own personal total should top the £500 mark thanks all of you who helped in this cause , we had 2 female barbers cutting and shaving heads plus grand perants friends and other family members of little Harley who all came to lend their support too, they were stunned by the ammount we raised with ONLY 3 weeks notice, and it was quite an emotional night for them. These bikers that are always reported upon in a negative or at best nutral way, who do not even know the little boy who we were raising funds for put a lot of effort in such a short ammount of time
His Grandad was flabbergasted and his Gran was equally amazed!
Photos will be forth coming my daughter took loads tonight but had to go to work at 10:30 so will not get those till Thursday sometime! But there will be some (make that loads) posted on our clubs web site (link on the events info page) I'll select a few and post them on the event also when they become available!
Thankyou all so very much for all of your generious help in this time of ecconomic down turn, it makes me feel so proud to know all of those who have and are still to donate!
Andy
