An evening of Blues!!! Blues Legends Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee in concert tonite at 21:20 / 9:20pm, first broadcast in 1974. Showing on the following channels: BBC 4 Sky 116 Virgin 107 Freesat 107 Freeview 9 (I've never heard of 'em but I know some of our members, including myself, like Blues music.) Also: Blues at the BBC: (archive blues) at 22:00 / 10pm Blues Britannia: Can blue men sing the whites? at 23:00 / 11pm Right thro to the early hours Enjoy!

You're welcome slidy Thanks blues, sorry folks I have to say I didn't enjoy Sonny and Brownie. It was too maudlin for me, I like my blues upbeat. LOL ya know what I mean. I'm not watching the rest of the programmes, obviously cos I'm on here, so if anyone else watched the other blues programmes tell us what you thought. It's ok I know what Eric Clapton sounds like lol XK that's blues not blue! Give ya specs a wash. it was a mouth organ but not the kind you were on about

Upbeat blues? that's a new one to me kwak. i like all of it but i'm funny like that. best was blues brittania. A good history lesson. For the roots of rock in uk.

I can't explain it blues but some blues music is ok it's the stuff like S & B I don't like. I couldn't be bothered to watch anymore in case it was as bad I'm glad you enjoyed it tho

Delta blues is about the stories not so much the music. Later blues styles refined it more. livened it up to dance to.

I guess I like a good beat, cos even when you're hard of hearing ya can still feel the beat, probably why I love rock n roll and rockabilly so much. Thanks for the edumacation, it's interesting to know. Do you like Cajun music blues?

I am watching that program now a really enjoying it, I like almost any music with no favourite type but that maybe comes from my dad being a drummer in the old style three piece band, to my brother being a skiffle, folk bluegrass musician and my daughter being a military musician. oh yeah an I can play a mean tune on my comb and paper.
