How are you all doing plus the later additions to the gang? I'm off the road at the moment due to having some surgery but I'm itching to get back out there. I had my last ride out to the BM rally meet last Sunday which was a 90 mile round trip and I really enjoyed it. Wish we could have stayed longer but the light was going fast. Still ended up on a lot of unlit roads with the stunning headlight of a CG125 - that was fun! NOT! Can't wait to get together with the girls up this end of the country when the weather is a bit nicer. I'm even considering taking my little 125 to Ireland around May time, hope someone will come with me though, I'll need their bike for the luggage space!! Need to buy a new lid, I knew mine was old due to being kitemarked but didn't realise until this week that it's actually over 10 years old! Shame really because it really has had very little wear. Also bought myself a pair of 2nd hand Daytona Ladystar GTX boots. These have a built up sole for the shorter rider. I tried a pair on at Infinity in York and they felt good so I managed to get a used pair on Ebay but by heck, was bidding fierce! Hoping these will help *when* I progress to a bigger/heavier bike. Speaking of which - I'm still falling off on a fairly regular basis. Four times now...I wonder at what point do you stop counting! lol! Well, that's my little update - would love to know what everyone else is doing or planning on doing.

Altho not mentioned in previous learner rider posts I too am a learner rider, so to speak. I had been riding for years but can't seem to pass my test. I say HAD cos I had to sell my Honda a few yrs ago, costing too much in parts. My other bike (Kwak) is in a mate's garage cos I can't find a buyer for it, had plenty who said they are interested but then they just don't get back in touch or they were just scammers. It doesn't look like I'll be able to afford another bike in the near future so I guess you could call me a wannabe lol Good luck to all my fellow learner riders in passing the practical test

hey Roachy - how ya doing???? How was the op?? I've still not managed to get out mine yet!! Will try again this weekend (weather permitting!!!) What you said re your mate being an instructor sounds good!! I'm sure us lot up here (Kaz aswell) would be able to get some dosh together to get a 'group' training session together Am now gonna go looking for those Daytona Ladystar GTX boots - had never heard of em before - but if they've got built up soles am deffinately interested!!! Re your helmet - so long as it hasn't been knocked around, I'm sure it should be ok? (waiting for all the guys to tell me differently here! ) Mine's also a number of years old (it's an Akai RX7) so I suppose - question for anybody out there - how often SHOULD you replace your lid??

General rule of thumb is 2 years for polycarbonate shells and 5 years for other types. the manufacturing date can normally be found sewn on the strap. replace asap if its been banged about a fair bit and after an accident. If it has been kept out of sunlight and been well cared for the shells last bloody ages. We use polycarb lids at work that are 5+ years old sometimes.

Go for it Roachy!

I recommend the Antrim Coast Road - it's a great road for a drive... not done it on a bike... YET... but when I stop being a Wannabe (welcome to the Wannabe Clan Kwak ) that's one of my first intended ports of call!
