I have had a promotion of sorts in work, I am now acting Chairperson (I hate that term but not as much as Chairwoman, and im not a bloke so I cant be a Chairman, and if you say acting Chair, it sounds like some weird kind of flakey yank method acting so we not even going there, but I digress).
Its a double edged sword so I am not 100% sure that I want it, but I am going to give it my best shot. The only conculsion I can draw is that the rest of the branch committee must be slightly bonkers.

Agree, chairperson makes you sound like the person who stacks the seats after the conferences....
I don't see anything wrong with a female being called Chairman personally... it always used to work back in the olden times when people were sensible.... remember those days?
How long before we have huwomen or hupeople? (I give it until the end of the year...)
