what? last time was alright, the loose bits were in the rucksack and i had the wheel strapped t me back, you were alright!lol. admittedly it probs wasnt the safest thing in the world to do but hey were still alive n it got the job done!lol. plus i think i was more worried about the courtesy shed hhmm bike breaking down on us!lol.
corner? Bussa? haha
No sorry mate, seriously - i like the Bridgestone BT021 (New 020s). They do some specifically made for the Bird, so maybe the bussa too.
It also depends what kind of miles you do, and how often you're prepared to replace. Tyres go quick on the bikes like we've got (Bussa and Bird), so you've gotta consider the costs if you often blast away from lights. The 021s have a much harder centre of the tread for motorway mileage, whilst having a soft side for corners.
Welcome to the site mate, look out for the odd-bods
'corner bussa? ' yes it does do them, grudgingly sometimes tho!hehe. and to my peril sometimes not. :( well as i do a lot of miles to get to and from work and unfortunately they are motorway miles until the last part. i was thinking about those you mentioned matt but at the same time id like something quite sticky but like you also said our bikes just shred them, and as for how i ride, well lets put it this way i ride the busa like i did my cbr 600 and my R6!hehe. whos these odd bods? lol. hope all is well in holland! :)
who's all these odd bods? haha - thats the funny thing, there's so many of them that them blend in with each other.
I can crank the bike over with 021s, tho if you want racy get 010s or 011s. Stickier all round, but i find the 021s have plenty enough grip.
If you're interested, theres a member on our sister site (bikechat.net) who gets part worn 010s from the tracks. Someone warms them up, takes them round a track a few times, then he sells them to anyone who wants them. Freshly worn in, with plenty of mileage left on them.
Better ring a tyre place, not so long ago the 'busa had special fitments due to its weight/speed capability.
Tyres that are suitable for a GSXR1000 for example will have a more lightweight construction because the bike weighs a lot less.
The blackbird and ZZR 1400 all had special fitments at one point too so for your own safety I would seek a fitters advice.
ahh yeh i never thought about that ghosthunter, thanks for the advice i think i shall do just that! wouldnt be very pleasant to find halfway down the m5 that my back tyre has gone pop on me! :S thanks again! :)
Shadz, waddya mean YOU will do that, it's ME that's doing the phoning! *slap* lol
Cheers for the advice ghosthunter

yea she's the worst! Really crackers. I feel so sorry for him.
Matt, I saw that!!! lol
well when i said me,i meant you ofcourse mother.lol. think matt hit the nail on the head there tho.lol. just kiddin mam! no more slaps or ill call the rspca!lol
rite well ive since found out that no one will put 2nd hand tyres on my bussa for 'safety' reasons, more like they want me t spend more cash buyin new tyres from them. gypos! so ive resorted to boycottin the lot of em, gonna ride it on the rims!lol. nah just kidding ive booked it in for a nice new set of avon storm st's! 187 quid fitted to the bike. not sure if thats a good deal or not but ive booked it now so ill be buggered if im gonna change it!lol thank you all for your contributions! :)
The only reason they wont do that Shadz is because they cannot possibly know how they were used previously. A lot of these part worn tyres (both car and bike) come from insurance write offs etc.
Sometimes these have been standing in oil/coolant/brake fluid at the crash site and in storage.......this seeps into the rubber and the only time you know about it is when you're taking a fast ride in an ambulance. And no one wants that!
The only time I would consider using a part worn is if I knew where it came from.....IE mates getting tyres early because he's off touring etc......A lot of proddie racers use road tyres too and can be a useful source for part worns although you have to be careful as one side can be cooked and the other untouched!
Considering the weight and spped capability of your bike I would go new everytime and only fit recommended rubber.
Hey look.......I'm talkin to Shadz and I never once mentioned seamen!.....DOH!
i see what your saying there ghost, n the tyres i was going to be fittin were from old gixer boy from here n only reason for him t be sellin em is due to him having bought new wheels etc so they wouldve been ok i think, however i done think that they wouldve lasted long as they were a soft ish compound so i think itd have been a false economy really. lol, you and seamen, people will start to talk you know!lol.
