When a Spanish bank robber traded 2 hostages for a motorbike, he thought his escape would be easy, however the robber - who had held his hostages for 12 hours with a grenade - didn’t anticipate what was going to happen next. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> An unmarked police car forced him off the road by driving into him, he somersaulted in the air twice before landing on the ground and being arrested. The incident was shown live on Spanish television. http: // www . youtube . com watch?v=8yoUaH6wGLs

Olé!! Guess it was too much thought to actually 'fix' the bike? (Maybe only a spoonful of petrol in the tank and jerry-rig the gauge to show full,, then arrest the perp as he coasts gently to a halt a few 100 yards down the road....) If they were THAT worried about the grenade, do you think ramming him with a ton and a half of metal was a good idea?

i think it's hillarious - hardcore criminals like that deserve everything they get! Sorry I know I'm harsh, but you gotta admit that when the spanish saw that on TV I bet the crime rate dropped.

Who knows the story behind his motivation?... maybe he had to get the money to pay off a ransom... or maybe to pay for his ill daughters treatment.... or maybe he is a habitual criminal.... Who knows when we only see a snippet of a story... (and don't get me wrong, I am in NO WAY liberal in the treatment of miscreants, I just understand how the media manipulates it's stories)

Ah, ok Kwak, thanks! I couldn't use your original link (even removing spaces etc.) so I had to search for the clip and the one I found was totally in Spanish, so all I could read/hear was " effefffeffeh effefefeh...scorchio!" edit: just found a report from the day it happened saying that he had asked for a motorbike and a gram of heroine..... I suppose you can't really carry a lot on a sportsbike!

ROFPML Those Spanish weather reporters have foul tempers eh? I found it again, I sit corrected, the voice over said 'demanded money and drugs' so more than likely a dealer not a user. Counter 0:16 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yoUaH6wGLs
