I usually enjoy Jules Holland's programme, especially when there are newcomers but tonite's programme was terrible.
Has Jules gone tone deaf in his middle age?
First there was James, one band member wearing a dress looked more *perverse than trendy, may have forgiven him his strange clobber if the singing was any good.
(I don't mean a man wearing a dress is perverse, I meant this particular man looked perverse wearing this particular dress)
Then there was Pentangle, a geriatric band from the 60's (nowt wrong with geriatric singers, if they can actually sing)
then something even worse from 'Operator Please' singing a song oddly entitled 'A song about ping pong' sung at break-neck speed
All 3 had one thing in common, none of em could sing in tune.
I lost the will to live when Melody Gardot started, but then to be fair it was Jazz and I hate Jazz, especially the down-beat stuff.
