I dont think you can put your own events up on your profile. If you are or wish to attend any of the events in the events calendar they will show up automatically, on your profile at the bottom of the page, when you indicate you would like to attend. If you want to let others know about an event you are organising, then you submit your event to the events page and after verification it goes public. Hope that clears up things a little for you.
